Extra Life 2026: Five Games, Five Challenges, $50 Per Failure

Extra Life is coming back to Technodabbler this fall. On November 6, I’ll be streaming from 1 pm to 3 pm EST to raise money for Opération Enfant Soleil. This will be my eleventh year participating in Extra Life, and I’ve set a $1,500 fundraising goal for 2026.

Last year’s stream was fun, but while planning this one I wanted to make the challenges a little more dangerous. The best Extra Life moments tend to happen when a challenge looks achievable, right up until everything goes wrong.

If you missed last year’s stream, I put together a short recap showing some of the challenges, successes, and inevitable failures.

For 2026, I’m raising the stakes. For every challenge I fail, I’ll personally donate $50 USD.

Five Games, Five Secret Challenges

I’m announcing the games ahead of time, but not the challenges. Those will only be revealed during the stream.

• Suika Game is coming back. It has produced some of the best energy during previous streams, particularly when a promising board starts going horribly wrong.
• Clustertruck is new this year. The objective is to jump across moving trucks without touching the ground, which provides plenty of opportunities for an otherwise good attempt to end rather abruptly.
• Vampire Survivors is also returning, but with a difference. I plan to use its Twitch integration this time, giving the stream some influence over what happens during the run.
• Mini Motorways earned its place in the main lineup after appearing as a bonus game last year. It turned out to be surprisingly popular, so this time it gets a proper challenge.
• Finally, there is WHAT THE GOLF?, a game that starts with the premise of golf and then takes increasingly questionable liberties with that description.

You Can Start Causing Trouble Now

You do not have to wait until November to participate. Early donations can change what happens during the stream.

• A $25 USD donation can buy me a Second Chance. Pick a game, and if I fail its challenge, I get one more attempt.
• A $50 USD donation does the opposite. Pick a game and Double the Stakes. If I fail that challenge, instead of donating $50 USD, I’ll donate $100 USD.
• And for a $200 USD donation, you can Change the Lineup. Choose a game and replace one of the five scheduled games with it. I retain final approval, mostly to make sure I can acquire it, run it, and reasonably turn it into a challenge for the stream.

There is plenty of time between now and November 6 for you to make this stream considerably more expensive for me. I hope you’ll join me live to find out what the five challenges actually are.
